The GAGC Fall 2003 Raffle to benefit Buskaid

Rules and Regulations

 

Terms:

GAGC – Gillian Anderson Global Community (http://www.gagc.net)

GBG – Giving Back Globally, a Non-Profit Organization in the Province of Ontario.

 

 

1. PURPOSE OF RAFFLE

All profits from this Raffle will be donated to The Buskaid Fund for Tertiary Study Abroad.  Cost of shipping of raffle prizes to the winners will be paid out of the total amount raised by ticket sales and cash contributors.  For more information on Buskaid, please refer to http://www.buskaid.org.za

2. ELIGIBILITY:

The Promotion is only open to all registered members of the GAGC who are or will be at least 16 years of age on the date of the drawing.  Members who are under 16 years of age who wish to buy tickets will require consent from a parent (please see section entitled “PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 16”). By entering the Promotion, participants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless GAGC, GBG and its sponsors and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, from any and all damages whether direct or indirect, which may be due to or arise out of participation in the Raffle or any portion thereof, or the acceptance, use/misuse or possession of prizes. By participating, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and to the decisions of GAGC whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from the Raffle. Void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation.


3. HOW TO ENTER THE RAFFLE:

Participants must be Registered members of the GAGC.  If you’re not registered, please go to http://www.gagc.net/forum and complete the online registration process.  Note that once you’ve filled out the registration form, you will receive an email from GAGC, which will contain instructions for validating your account.  You MUST validate your account via this email in order to be eligible to purchase Raffle tickets.

1.      Once registered, you must complete an “Contact Information” email : send an email to gagcomm@hotmail.com, with the subject: Info for Fall 2003 Raffle and with the following information:

a.       Full legal name

b.      Screen Name (from Registration at GAGC)

c.       Age (at least indicate if “16 years or older”, or “under 16 years”)

d.      Full mailing address and phone number

e.       Valid Email address (for winner notification)

2.      Paying for tickets:

a.       Payment in:  Canadian or US dollars, Euros or GB Pounds ONLY

b.      Credit card payments accepted by PayPal.  Please see main raffle page for details (GAGC Fall 2003 Raffle Main)

c.       If you don’t have a credit card, you can pay by cash, cheque or bank transfer in US$ or Euros.  Please contact the following people for more information and instruction:

3.      Ticket Prices (currency conversions are set and final):

a.       1 ticket - $4.00 Canadian;  $3.00 USD;  €2.60 Euro;  £1.80 GBP

b.      5 tickets - $15.00 Canadian;  $11.00 USD;  €9.70 Euros;  £6.70 GBP

c.       10 tickets - $25.00 Canadian;  $18.50 USD;  €16.10 Euros;  £11.20 GBP

 

All requests for tickets, and payments, must be received by 11:59:59 PM EST October 17th, 2003.  If you have requested tickets, but your payment has not been received by the deadline, your request will NOT be filled.  Participants may purchase an unlimited number of tickets.


4. ODDS OF WINNING:

Odds of winning will depend upon the total number of tickets sold.

5. SWEEPSTAKES DRAWING AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS/SELECTED ENTRANTS:

Winners will be selected by randomized drawing on October 19th, 2003 from all eligible tickets sold up the deadline for ticket sales.

Purchaser of the ticket need not be present at the time of the drawing in order to win a prize.

The Winner will be notified by email, mail and/or phone within five (5) days after the drawing date.  We will then confirm Winner’s shipping address.  If the Winner cannot be contacted within five (5) days after the drawing, is ineligible, or fails to claim a prize, that prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected.  To avoid disqualification, please ensure that you have submitted accurate Email and mailing address information prior to purchasing tickets.

Entrants grant GAGC the right to use and publish winner's proper name and Country of residence online in connection with the raffle. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for GAGC to use Winner's name solely for advertising and promotional purposes as GAGC so determines without notice or further compensation, except where prohibited by law.

6. DISQUALIFICATION: GAGC is not responsible for: (a) telecommunication, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind, for inaccurate transcription of entry information, for any human error, or for entries that are stolen, tampered, altered, misdirected, garbled, delayed by computer transmissions, incomplete, illegible, corrupted, lost, postage due, facsimile entries, late or damaged, inaccurate capture of information, and all such entries are void; and (b) your inability to access the registration site, or any other error or malfunction which may occur, including any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in the Raffle. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Raffle, as solely determined by GAGC, will be disqualified. If a participant is disqualified for any of the above abuses, GAGC reserves the right to permanently disqualify such person from any future promotion it sponsors. In the event any portion of this Raffle is compromised by virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of GAGC which, in the sole opinion of the GAGC, corrupts, or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Raffle, GAGC reserves the right at its sole discretion to terminate the Raffle. The prizes will then be awarded, in a random drawing from all tickets sold prior to such a termination. The GAGC  shall hold the right to cancel the raffle entirely for any reason upon written notice to all raffle ticket holders and shall issue a refund of the complete purchase price to all raffle ticket holders in the event of cancellation

7. TAX INFORMATION: All federal, state, local, and other taxes on the prize, including a withholding tax for prizes, are the sole responsibility of the winner.

8. GENERAL INFORMATION: This Raffle is conducted in English (which will be given its everyday ordinary meaning), and any and all disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts of the Province of Ontario, exclusively, and subject to the laws of Ontario without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

9. WINNERS LIST: Complete winners list will be published on the GAGC.net website once all winners have been notified and deemed eligible.


10. PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 16:

Members of the GAGC who will be under the age of 16 on the date of the drawing (October 19, 2003), must forward by email a statement of consent from a parent or legal guardian, confirming that the member has permission to purchase tickets for this Raffle.  Email must state name of parent or legal guardian, name and username of GAGC member, the members age and a clear statement of permission.  Ie:

·        “This email grants permission to “members name” to purchase tickets for and participate in the GAGC Fall 2003 Raffle.”
